The goal is just to make sure we’re all aware, check what’s in our pantry or freezer, and handle things safely.

Below you’ll find the latest recall details in plain English (no confusing corporate speak). If one of these products is in your home, follow the steps listed to protect your pets and family, and be sure to reach out to your vet if you’re ever unsure.

Steve’s Real Food & Quest Cat Food Recall Expansion

Go Raw LLC has expanded its February 2026 recall to include an additional lot of Steve’s Real Food Freeze-Dried Chicken Recipe because it may contain too little thiamine (Vitamin B1).

Thiamine is an essential vitamin that helps support normal metabolism and nervous system function in both dogs and cats. Cats are especially sensitive to thiamine deficiency.

Why this matters

Pets that eat food low in thiamine over an extended period can develop a vitamin deficiency that may become serious if left untreated.

The good news is that when caught early, thiamine deficiency is usually reversible with veterinary treatment.

Possible symptoms in pets

  • Decreased appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Excessive drooling
  • Weight loss
  • Poor growth
  • Weakness
  • Lethargy

As the deficiency becomes more severe, pets may also develop:

  • Wobbly walking
  • Vision changes
  • Circling
  • Falling
  • Neck bending downward
  • Seizures

If your pet has eaten one of the recalled products and develops any of these symptoms, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.
