Oma’s Pride Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe

Oma’s Pride of Avon, Connecticut, is voluntarily recalling one lot of Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe frozen raw dog food because the product is contaminated with Salmonella.

The recall was initiated after the FDA received a consumer complaint and collected a sample of the product for testing. The sample tested positive for Salmonella.

Three illnesses in dogs have been reported in connection with the complaint.

Oma’s Pride is continuing to investigate the source of the contamination.

Salmonella can affect dogs that eat contaminated food, but it can also pose a risk to people who handle the food, pet bowls, utensils, storage containers, or other surfaces that have come into contact with it.

Dogs infected with Salmonella may experience:

• Lethargy
• Diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
• Vomiting
• Fever
• Decreased appetite
• Abdominal pain

Some infected dogs may appear healthy but can still carry and spread Salmonella to people or other animals.

People exposed to Salmonella may experience symptoms including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever.

If your dog has eaten the recalled food and is showing signs of illness, contact your veterinarian. If you develop symptoms after handling the recalled food, contact your healthcare provider.

Stop Feeding This Product Immediately

If you have a bag from the affected lot, stop feeding it to your dog immediately.

Do not sell or donate the recalled food. Safely dispose of it and contact Oma’s Pride for a refund.

You should also wash and sanitize any pet food bowls, scoops, storage containers, utensils, or surfaces that may have come into contact with the food, and wash your hands thoroughly after handling it.

No other Oma’s Pride products, sizes, or lots are included in this recall.
