Dog Food Recall Alert - October 11, 2021 - Tuffy's Pet Foods

On October 11, 2021 Tuffy's Pet Foods voluntarily recalled 1,660 cases of Pure Vita Salmon Entree in a Tetrapak carton due to potentially elevated levels of Vitamin D. The company states that no illnesses or injuries have been reported. They have identified and isolated the issue and have put corrective actions in place, in addition to their existing safety protocols, to prevent this from happening again.

If you have purchased any of the affected product, please do not feed it to your dog as potential adverse reactions can occur in dogs of all sizes. Please return the product to the store you purchased it from for a refund. Dogs that have ingested elevated levels of Vitamin D may have the following symptoms: vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, weight loss and at very high levels it can cause renal dysfunction. If your dog has consumed any of the affected product and is exhibiting the symptom above, please contact your veterinarian.
