Attention pet parents! Blue Ridge Beef is recalling 5,700 lbs. of its 2 lb log Natural Mix due to possible Salmonella contamination.

🔹 UPC #: 854298001054
🔹 Sold between: January 3, 2025 – January 24, 2025
🔹 States affected: Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Tennessee, Rhode Island
🔹 Packaging: Clear plastic

Why is this recall happening?

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture tested the product and confirmed the presence of Salmonella. The FDA was notified, and the recall was issued to help keep pets and their humans safe.

What are the risks?

🐶 For pets: Infected pets may have diarrhea (sometimes bloody), vomiting, fever, lethargy, abdominal pain, or loss of appetite. Even if they don’t seem sick, they can still carry the bacteria and spread it to humans and other animals. If your pet has eaten this food and is showing any of these signs, contact your veterinarian.

🧍‍♂️ For humans: Handling contaminated pet food can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. In rare cases, it can lead to more severe complications. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling pet food or cleaning pet bowls. If you develop symptoms, contact your healthcare provider.

Stop feeding this product immediately
Do NOT sell, donate, or give it to pets or wildlife
Dispose of it safely, making sure no animals can access it
Wash and sanitize pet bowls, food containers, and any surfaces that came into contact with the product
