Dog Food Recall Alert: Darwin’s BioLogics Grain-Free Beef (Lots 11826 & 11895)

Announced: September 24, 2025
Reason: Possible Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella contamination
Brand: Darwin’s Natural Pet Products (Arrow Reliance, Inc.)
Product: BioLogics All-Natural & Grain-Free Beef Recipe for Dogs

The FDA is cautioning pet owners about certain lots of Darwin’s BioLogics All-Natural & Grain-Free Beef Recipe for Dogs after samples tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes (L. mono) and Salmonella.

These raw frozen foods are sold online through Darwin’s subscription service in 2-pound white and clear plastic packages split into four half-pound sections.

The FDA recommended that Darwin’s recall the affected lots, but as of now, the company has not provided proof that all products have been removed from customers’ freezers or the market.

Products Affected

  • Darwin’s Natural Pet Products BioLogics All-Natural & Grain-Free Beef Recipe for Dogs
    • Lot 11895 – Manufactured July 29, 2025
    • Lot 11826 – Manufactured July 7, 2025

You can find the lot number printed in the lower left corner on the front of the 2-pound package.

Why This Recall Matters

Both Listeria and Salmonella can make pets and humans sick.

In pets:

  • Lethargy, fever, vomiting, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), or loss of appetite
  • Some pets may just act tired or have tummy pain

In people:

  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cramps, and fever
  • In serious cases: joint pain, eye irritation, urinary issues, or—especially with Listeria—infection during pregnancy that can cause miscarriage or stillbirth

If your dog shows any of these symptoms after eating the affected food, contact your vet. If you’re feeling unwell after handling it, check in with your doctor.

What To Do

  1. Check your freezer for Darwin’s BioLogics Beef Recipe for Dogs, Lot 11826 or 11895.
  2. Do not feed it to pets or any other animals.
  3. Throw it away in a sealed container so kids, pets, and wildlife can’t get to it.
  4. Clean and disinfect all surfaces, utensils, and pet dishes that touched the food.
  5. Wash your hands thoroughly after cleanup.

A Note from the FDA

The FDA continues to monitor this issue and has requested proper documentation from Darwin’s to ensure the contaminated lots are fully removed from circulation. Until then, pet owners are encouraged to double-check packaging before feeding.
