
Heads up, pet parents! On April 8th, 2025, Supercan Bulk issued a recall for one of their pig ear treats due to Salmonella contamination. If you’ve picked up any piggy ears lately, here’s what you need to know!
What’s Being Recalled?
- Product Name: Supercan Bully Sticks Pig Ears Slivers – Thick Cut Piggy Ear Slices
- Size: 500 pieces (15.9 oz bag)
- Expiration Date: 11/09/2026
- Where It Was Sold: North 40 Outfitters in Spokane, WA
- Distributed On: April 11, 2024
- Company: Supercan Bulk (Miami, FL)
The issue? A sample tested by the Washington State Department of Agriculture came back positive for Salmonella.
What Should You Do If You Have It?
- Stop feeding it to your pet immediately.
- Don’t donate it or sell it.
- Return it to the place of purchase or destroy it in a way no other animals (or curious kiddos) can get to it.
- Clean up! Wash and sanitize:
- Food bowls
- Scoops
- Storage containers
- Your hands!

Why It Matters: What to Watch For
In Humans (yes, Salmonella can spread to people too):
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), stomach cramps, and fever
- More severe cases can lead to joint pain, UTIs, or even arterial infections
In Pets:
- Diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
- Vomiting, fever, tiredness
- Loss of appetite or belly pain
- Even healthy pets can carry and spread it without showing symptoms!
